So close!! In just a
couple of days, I’ll be sitting in a cozy, warm house enjoying Christmas with
my family. I love Christmas- celebrating the birth of our Savior and making wonderful memories with loved ones. This year, however, Christmas will be extra
special, because just after the first of the year I will be taking off for my
next adventure…Africa! I’m so glad that
I get to spend time with all of my family before I leave, and so so SO excited
for what is in store over the next six months.
On another (and sort of random) note, I thought I’d share just a tiny bit of
what’s been on my heart recently. Maybe,
just maybe, you’ll be able to relate…
I make a ton of mistakes.
And by that I mean a TON.
Sometimes I wake up feeling like I’ve failed way to badly to ever regain
the ground I’ve lost. Then I realize
something. God is bigger, better, and
stronger than any mistake I could make. And
the really beautiful thing is that even when I mess up, He still loves me,
wants me, and is waiting for me to ask forgiveness and turn back to Him.
So my challenge to myself and to you is this- let the past
be the past, learn from the mistakes you’ve made, learn to ask forgiveness and
forgive yourself, and set your eyes back on Him.
Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on
Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him
endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the
throne of God.
I hope you are able to enjoy everything about the Christmas season in the next few days, and can take a minute to just breathe, relax, and remember what the celebration is really all about. Merry Christmas!
